About us.
Our ministry was started in the 1990s by Pastor Selvarajah Jayakanth in the Thambalagamam area of Trincomalee and a church was established there and it was called the Grace United Church. Thereafter, considering the growth in the ministry over time and the increasing number of churches, and based on the 1689 statement of faith, churches were gradually started in many parts of Sri Lanka and all of them were brought under one umbrella and all those churches were called by the name of the Lanka Evangelical Fellowship Church (LEFC).

Our Faith
Our beliefs reflect the doctrines of historic Christianity, based on the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689.

Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is infallible and infallible; it is our only authority for faith and life.

Salvation
We are Calvinists. That is, we believe that salvation is given entirely by God’s grace alone. (Eph. 2:8–9)

Baptism
We are Baptists. We believe that a person who has repented of their sins and placed their faith in Jesus Christ should be baptized by complete immersion in water in order to show their love and obedience to Him.

Worship
Worship should be reverent and worthy of God. Therefore, we follow a traditional worship service that includes songs, Bible readings, prayer, and a sermon.

Gospel
The gospel is the best news a person can hear. The Lord has commanded that it be proclaimed to all people. Therefore, we believe that the preaching and teaching of the gospel should be the central activities of the local church.
